8 (or 9) isn't the core type. A 4 with 8 in the tritype will be vaguely more confrontational than with 9. The surrealists were deliberately provocative and a little pessimistic so it fits.
A 9 has a tendency to be fanated with fantasy, while 8s tend to be very "grounded" types, concerned with facing up to the world as it is. An "edger" surrealist might be more a 9w8 then 9w1.
