Stephen Hearts ENFJ 2w1 remember what your heart is for ![]() Thor: Ragnarok is different. Thor: Ragnarok is, among many many other things, a challenge to the idea that societies with strongly imperialist and colonialist roots can ever be truly reformed. Its answer is that you're better off just...starting over. It presents a soft-reboot to Thor's character in this regard as well. Here, Thor's struggle isn't one of hubris or a desire for authority, but instead, about growing into responsibility. Thor has come to terms with his flaws as a person, but is using that humility as an excuse to avoid commitment. Asgard needs a king - and all of the alternatives (Lok & Hela) are terrible. But Thor doesn't want the responsibility - he would rather go on adventures and explore the universe for infinity stones. He has grown into a certain wisdom about his flaws as a person, but his arc is about not using that wisdom as a means to dodge duty and responsibility. His character does a flip from 8w7 to 7w8, but I'm gonna settle on 7. ![]() 2018-05-07 01:51:03pm (post #234) |
