The logic is deduced by socionics. Using this system, you can't have strong sensing as well as intuition, therefore either the system is incorrect or the historical account of his abilities are. In fact, Stratiyevskaya even said this using SLEs as an example...

"If only with such overwhelming volitional sensing the SLE would also be invulnerable by intuition... Unfortunately, in nature one excludes the other making this impossible. However much the SLE tries to develop this function, it will never be sufficiently strong for him. Seeing as you type him as SLE you can't disagree that it's Ni.

Also, since Stratiyevskaya types Napoleon as SLE as you do, I will quote her comments on SLE specifically in regards to their lack of long-range thinking and foresight.

"ESTp's distribution of power is always very primitive: "either-or" - there is no alternative. This is because the SLE is always focused on close-range goals – either he takes it, or he doesn't."

"ESTp's "volitional program" consists of consecutive achievements of short-range goals by all means possible."

"He builds his strategy counting on his ability to improvise for success: 'The main thing is to engage, and from there we'll see'."

"The SLE often runs into some problems with time allocation for completing the necessary work. As any sensing type, the ESTp tries to accomplish the maximum amount of work in a single unit of time, which goes without saying leads to an overload, excessive stain and stress. "And I'm not going to define the basics of socionics for you" of course because you can't and because i am the only one between us who have it.

And I'm not going to define the basics of socionics for you. Do some research into the functions instead of reading bad descriptions. SLE is at best good at short-term planning and planning for the organization of resources. Goals are set by the SLE, how to get there is planned by the IEI.

Having a focus on it only indicates that it (Ni) is in values. Being good at it indicates it's a strong function.

One thing to remember about historical Se-base types is that they often had a council of Ni types planning for them. Afterall, Se base types are about setting the goal and having the volitional force to reach it, but it's the Ni-base types who actually identify the route to be taken, set targets and do the actual planning.

long term planning is an indicator of Ni/Se axis over Ne/Si axis not N>S. Napoleon Bonaparte (SLE) was a good example. his machism at the start of the show as well as his patriotism are correlated with beta over alpha.

His leadership and strategic abilities stem from Ne. He's far too inquisitive and curious for an SLE.

Also, he (and Aang) rely on Katara's 4D Si a lot which puts her under stress from having to use an unvalued function, to the point where she appears to be the elder sibling having to play adult for for the pair of them. In fact, the goofing off Aang and Sokka do during the show is typical of the kindred relationship between Ne dominant types.

Sokka is good at long-term planning and contingency planning which is very N. The show makes a point to highlight how incapable he is of taking care of himself in day to day activities as humor. Alpha quadra is fairly obvious.
