"However, as appears, and rightly, from the Tolstoy novel, episodes of openness of feelings are rare for the 3rd Emotion and have no continuation. Therefore, as a result, “cracker”, except for defenselessness before emotional beatings, is often doomed to another torment - loneliness.

Before, speaking of the ideas that tightly linked love and emotionality, it was already stated that the measure of love in mankind is experienced and observed feelings, and therefore “romantic” (1st Emotion) is the best lover in the world. The "cracker" is the opposite - he is the worst lover in the world.

Outsiders usually generally refuse him the ability to love, as contemporaries partially did in relation to Chekhov, claiming that there was not much love in Chekhov's life. But, according to Kuprin’s more accurate observation, the problem for Chekhov was not in the content of feelings, but in the form of expression. Kuprin wrote: “There was a fear of pathos, strong feelings and inseparable several theatrical effects in him. I can only compare his position: one loves a woman with all the ardor, tenderness and depth that a person of subtle feelings, great mind and But he never dares to say this in lush, high-spoken words and cannot even imagine how he will kneel down and hold one hand to his heart and how he will speak with the trembling voice of his first lover, and therefore he loves and is silent, and suffers silently and never from "it’s important to express that which, in a free and loud manner, by all the rules of recitation, exposes the veil of a mean outfit." That's right, Kuprin is absolutely right, but instinct is instinct, and a person incapable of making a wide sensitive gesture turns out to be more often doomed to loneliness than anyone else.

Another paradoxical, in the opinion of literary criticism, trait that unites poets with the 3rd Emotion is that, being the most subtle lyricists, they are on the side of the main lyrical theme - love. Before the appearance of Brodsky, this circumstance was noted as an incident of creativity Zabolotsky and Twardowski. However, if literary criticism looked more closely, it would reveal in their works not only the absence of a pronounced love theme, but also signs of feverish passion as such, regardless of content.

Although in the section devoted to the 3rd Emotion a lot was said about her artistic preferences, the “cracker” rarely chooses an artistic (religious, mystical, entertaining) field and, moreover, often carefully avoids it, depriving representatives of the artistic professions with a cold of irony and poorly concealed neglect. If we talk about a career that nature itself was destined for as a cracker, it would be a diplomat’s career."
