I understand the fact that the idea of reilgous torlrince as it's now practiced is a reltivly new ideas. If you had said that based of the understanding of the times, the view of a group of people worshiping none state sactioned Gods would be a threat, I would agree (although I still wouldn't think that would apply to some tinny cult who at the time had basicly no social power.) But calling buring people alive for your own intertanmnt (which is a historcal fact) "common sense" is fucked up. The real solcution to this problem to have a secualar state, with no ofical religous posistion. There may always be people who think there God is the only true one, and hold that posistion with utter certinty. But so long as there not dumb enough to try and force it onto the state (and we imprision anyone who dose) it should be manigable.

lol i just watched one video of vikernes in my entire life. they was a threat because of their monotheism. the principle of one god for all human who create undoubtly religious conflict was totally opposed to the polytheism that even allowed "unknow gods". A threat for a civilization is not only a bunch of violent people, it is a violation of fundational principle of the civilization. this civilization did survive long because they was far less laxist than the later was with the christian abomination. + contrary to vark vigernes i don't believe in any superstitious ritual aspect of paganism but rather on usefulness of ancient conception (like the greek/roman vision of political freedom)+ i am oriented toward roman and greek civilization not nordic, so thanks for being of topic again, Jacobus

What the fuck do you mean "threat to there civlizatoin?" At this point, christians wern't doing anything to anyone? Even if a chrstian did start the fire of Rome (which no one new who did it) that wouldn't justify the persucution of an entire reilgion, who had done nothing?

While that's true, there also seems to be strong evidence that he did persecute christians, even if tails of his monstrosity were greatly exaggerated, he was still a horrible man.

modern historian are far less portraying him as evil as the historian of nero's time. It was probably because most historian was member of the parliementarian while Nero was an emperor and reduced their influence, so it was a conflict of interest rather than Nero being a monster

I was just reading about this guy and holy shit, I knew he was bad, but the son of a bitch burned people at the stake during fany parties for entertainment, just because of the religion they worshiped. I didn't know I had it in me for such disgusted for a historical figure. He was truly an evil man.
