So you bleive not being sexist in you hireing practices is something only emtional people would do? Or were you implying that woman are all more emotional then men, and therefor there leadership will invitibly cause more emtion drivin practics? These are the only two explaintion I can think of, and both are pretty sexist. I apoligize if this was not your saying, but I can't see what else you could mean.

As for your other point, clinging to dogma and doctrine isn't ratoinalsim. Thats the oppiste of rationalsim. Rationalsim, involves changing your ideas with the evidnce; for example, we used to the being gay was a mental illnes now we know better. We used to think woman were infiorer to men, now we know beter. And so on and so forth.

Early Anglicanism as expressed by people like Cranmer and Laud is rather rationalistic, whereas now the main Church of England and the Episcopal Church in the US are dominated by sentimentality and a willingness to compromise on pretty much every doctrine. The ordination of women began sporadically in the 70s, which is where this new spirit started as well.
