*~snow~* :( Ok that makes sense, thank you for explaining. I'm still not sure if I'd type him as SLE, but I can see where you're coming from. And if he is SLE that'd make all those INFJ typings of him even funnier. 0 2018-06-07 03:25:22pm (post #1111) |

fg xxTJ 6w5 Beta ST i would probably consider him INTJ if he was not coming back after his death in season 3, after than you can see that his willpower/power hungry attitude is still here even if he have find his love and make peace with his son(acomplished his initial Ni goal ). i also don't see an INTJ take the risk of loose his son once again, like he did in the end of the season 1 by bringing magic too storybrooke. i don't see him LIE because contract and rules is relied to TI in socionics (but Te in classical cognitive function). and i finally choose SLE because his huge will is the core of the strengh of the character (he almost destroyed a world to find his son back),and Fi is his vulnerable function (accidently hurt the one he loves because of his brutality) 0 2018-06-07 09:23:31am (post #1108) |
*~snow~* :( I understand your points for ENTJ, but I can't totally get behind it. As Rumple, he is admittedly way more E and P than as Gold, since Rumple can be expressive and theatrical in contrast to Gold who is uptight and secretive. However, I still think he's more likely to be INTJ. From my understanding of his character, he is led through life primarily by his various passions and obsessive goals. Think back to how he was before he became the dark one - he had little desire for control and power and he wasn't that assertive at all. His ultimate focus was on reuniting with his father, and it was the defining aspect of who he was. After that dream failed, his second major obsession was to protect his son, and after that failed, the biggest obsession of all emerged - to reunite with the son whom he had failed at any cost. Beyond the corruption of power, he maintained a burning passion, and that burning passion was stronger than any desire for power, control, or efficiency. Rumple most often used his power and pragmatism to support his passions and future visions, not the other way around. In a function sense, I believe this translates to him having Te supporting his Ni. Also, the behavior you attribute to Se is, imo, mostly just a result of his corruption. Morals are certainly a weak point for him, but so is sensing. The fact that he is so obsessed with the future, always looking to obtain things just beyond his reach, how he struggles to relax in the present moment (only learning to do so through Belle), and how his Se typically seems to manifest in violent and uncontrolled outbursts is pretty telling. Letters-wise I think he's an introvert as well, since he is more inwardly focused than outwardly focused (he has an inclination toward his personal goals, thoughts, and feelings over other people or the world around him) though he's probably truly an ambivert. In socionics I don't really see why LIE wouldn't work? Though idk enough about socionics to make an argument for it beyond the fact that he doesn't seem sensing or ethical to me at all, even in socionics terms. Anyway, I think I really need to rewatch the series too, since I'm pretty much typing him based on my flimsy memory at this point. So maybe I'll change my mind on his type in the future, but for now I have him pegged as INTJ. 0 2018-06-06 06:34:35pm (post #1105) |
fg xxTJ 6w5 Beta ST socionic typing(cognitive function =/= socionic function) for his socionic type i first saw LIE but i was to quick it's more the ENTJ vibe who make him feel like that. i don't know if he is more SLE or EIE. SLE could work with his ruthless attitude and his will power(Se) and his deal based on his contract rules (Ti), Fi Porl could work for him due to the ambiguity that he have with Fi(he lack of ethic but want to be a good man afterall). EIE could work with his manipulation style and his abstract enigm, and Si Polr could work with his lack of assurance in his physical environment. put EIE now, probably will change for SLE later i have too watch the serie again to be sure. 0 2018-06-05 05:28:57pm (post #1056) |
fg xxTJ 6w5 Beta ST it's hard to see if he is more INTJ or ENTJ both of his Te(pragmatic, ruthless, obsessed by control and power) and Ni(understand people's motivation intuitively, future oriented, obsessive) could be is dominant function. but i think he is too good at adapting himself in different situation to be a Se inf. maybe gold is more INTJ but Rumple is definitly ENTJ. 0 2018-05-12 05:20:13pm (post #456) |
